Future phases

The specification sets out six build phases. Today we are through Phase 1 (Foundation and CRM) and well into Phase 2 (Gmail intake agent) and Phase 3 (Admissions and billing). The pieces here are from the later phases, kept in one short list so you can see what the full map looks like.

Phase 4 — Cohort operations, finished out

Section titled “Phase 4 — Cohort operations, finished out”

Most of this is in place. What is still to come:

  • Hybrid attendance check-in. Today, Zoom attendance imports automatically through the fake Zoom adapter; in-person attendance is marked by hand. A proper QR or tap check-in flow at Kanuga is planned.
  • Full session materials and announcements. Students see upcoming sessions on their Homebase. A full materials-and-readings view (the reading list for each intensive) is on the roadmap.

Student Success today shows the roster, the risk score, and alerts. Still to come:

  • Advising notes with calendared check-ins. Each advising conversation attached to a check-in meeting, surfaced on the Timeline, with a reminder for the next one.
  • Faculty concerns. A separate category of alert from the staff side, with the same lifecycle.

Phase 6 — Certification and alumni, finished out

Section titled “Phase 6 — Certification and alumni, finished out”

Certification issues the certificate and has a public verification page. The alumni experience is thinner. Still to come:

  • Alumni Engagement itself (see Coming later).
  • Referral tracking. A field on the person’s record for who referred them, and a short dashboard of alumni-referred students.
  • Mentor and assistant roles in future cohorts. A way to mark an alumna as mentoring the next cohort and have that show up on the mentor side of the portal.

Optional in the spec. Not planned for this build. Twilio, or Constant Contact’s own SMS if Haden’s plan carries it, is the path when the decision is made.

An .ics feed per cohort so students subscribe once and get every session on their own calendar. Small; cheap; waiting on the student side of the portal reaching its first stable shape.

Mentioned in the spec as Data migration runs alongside Phase 1. The current live database holds about 200 person-program rows across SD and DW plus 33 undesignated people — the result of the first sweep. More formal migrations (older Kanuga lists, past applicants that still live only in Google Sheets) are planned as a follow-up.

Next: Where to start.
